" a BLOG ...
Gorgeous 10 week old Banjo was worn out when he arrived for his photo session. He had already had a play, a bath, a blow dry ... followed by a ride in a car to the studio. After a little nap however he was ready to play.
The new website is finally done! Or at least as done as it needs to be to get it up online. It has certainly been a labour of love for me and a good few late nights. I have always built my own websites and have also been aware for a long time that my current site was out of date and not great on mobile devices. I wanted a site that was visually appealing and easy to navigate. A site that had splashes of my personality and heaps of information. So here it is! Everything you need to know is somewhere on the site. Check out the Workshops page ... it goes into detail what is covered in our very popular course ... and there are a total of 14 different photo galleries too.
So now it's done I can move onto my next project .... early nights and early mornings and getting back into a regular exercise routine. Happy exploring of my site - am very proud of it.
BECAUSE IT WAS NEVER TAKEN ...
I recently read a post from a friend, which has stayed with me since!
I want to share that with you.
She posted that it was the anniversary of her mother's death, and she had been hunting and hunting for a photo of herself and her mother together. She found one! Just one .. and that was a photo with the two of them in the background. Not a great photo, not even a nice photo, not a photo she could pop into a frame to put beside her bed. That was it. She then said that if she could go back in time to hire a photographer for some portraits of her and her mum, she would do so in a heartbeat!
Made me feel sad, but also incredibly proud of what I do. I don't just take photos, I provide memories that are irreplaceable. So very proud. I love my job!
It also made me think of the thousands and thousand of photos lost on peoples computers and phones. On unstable hard drives, faulty usb's and discs that will probably be unreadable in 5 years time. So please ... PRINT your photos, print them and display them, print them and put them in albums, print them and put them on your wall. Just print! Photos are so so so important. Don't be like my friend and regret not having photos - when it is so easy to do so.
TOO MANY WINES AND A CAMERA ...
Ok ... this might be a little unusual as a first blog post on the new website .. but hey this is me after all. Outside of the 6 days a week I work in the studio, outside of all the charging around I do after my kids, buying the groceries, paying the bills etc etc. I am a party girl who loves high heel shoes, chardonnay and sharing both with friends. We had a really fun night .. which of course ended up in me pulling out my camera.
